Commodore Doug & Bonnie Tiffany dined with Webb Chiles at this club. Webb is on his 6th circumnavigation, this time in a Moore 24. They left him with an NYC burgee and told him to fly it on his journey and bring it back safely. OCC is a fun & friendly yacht club on Opua waterfront in the Bay of Islands. Lily stopped by NYC after Ed completed his voyage from Chula Vista
to Hawaii on his 32' Islander Sea Lily. His plan was to sail into
Nawiliwili but stuff broke and he made Honolulu instead and flew
to Kauai. The original photo was the victim of a camera
malfunction so Staff Commodore Woodie Cole did the NYC honors and
Ed mailed a
photo from CVYC when he returned home (by plane). He'll be

Burnham Park YC, Chicago,
BPYC,
represented by visitors Dick and Jan O'Connell exchanged
burgees with NYC. Staff Commodore Roger Cable did the
honors. The O'Connells joined us for a Thursday night race. Dick
crewed for OZone and Jan joined the race committee at the jetty.
They both joined us for dinner at the clubhouse after the race.

Dinner Party. The McCarthy's were happy to be out of the cold,
even though it was quite wet and we were happy to enjoy their

Juanita Hopkins who stopped by NYC for a burgee exchange
recently. Juanita had recently met NYC member Will Ryan who was visiting family in Annapolis and
celebrated his birthday at EYC. Will is the bar manager for the
Lahaina YC as many of our members know. It's a small, small world
folks.

for a burgee exchange with the Nawiliwili Yacht Club. Rear
Commodore Jim Saylor did the honors. Van & Cheryl enjoy their
power boat MAHALO on the West Coast and are the daughter and
son-in-law of NYC members Doug & Sharon Gibson who were present
for the exchange. SYC is a very active club that enjoys many

Tricia Mattson was proud to tell us that she was only the

partied with us at NYC after the first race of the Wahine Series.

mystery exchange done by someone ??? at NYC who was working at the
clubhouse. We didn't get a picture of the actual exchange so Peter
was kind enough to send this picture and Sharon filled in the

lovely folks were visiting with friends who live in Kapaa over the
New Year and connected with Sharon for the exchange. They were
hoping to go sailing, but settled for a visit and a beer. Their
friend Jack who lives in Kapaa was kind enough to take the

Lake Yosemite Sailing Association, CA
NYC Lifetime Member George Deane
brings us a burgee from his "other" club. George and his wife
JoAnne live in Emeryville, CA and wanted to teach their grandkids
how to sail. They bought a 22' sailboat and joined the
Lake Yosemite Sailing Association
so on his recent visit we did a burgee exchange. The LYSA
looks like a casual, friendly club, much like the NYC only a lot

Staff Commodore Dick Olsen
did the burgee exchange honors with Rich Wideman from the
SFYC. Rich
and his wife Shawn were visiting Nawiliwili aboard a cruise ship
and met us at the clubhouse shortly before they were ready to set
sail for Oahu. The San Francisco Yacht Club
in tranquil Belvedere Cove is the oldest Yacht Club West of the
Mississippi in North America.

return race from Hanalei to Nawiliwili. They caught a crew spot on
Speedy and joined us at the clubhouse after the race to enjoy a
cold brew and make a burgee exchange with the Cobourg Yacht
Club in Canada. Roly and Karren
race their J-33 on Lake Ontario.

Diego Garcia Yacht Club, BIOT NYC members George and
Christine Silfast were on-Island for a regular visit and this
time they brought a burgee with them from the Diego Garcia
Yacht Club. George is a lifetime member of this club which
is located in the British Indian Ocean Territory. Be sure to
