KAUAI CHANNEL RACE

KO OLINA to NAWILIWILI

The 2004 Kauai Channel Race
Kalewa Takes it All!
First to Finish
First in Fleet
First in Multihull!

The Kauai Channel Race was a huge success! Great winds, great weather, a great band all made for a great party! 7 boats competed, including 2 boats from Oahu. Word is the sail over to Ko Olina was pretty burly. Kevin Millet of KALEWA reported apparent wind speeds in excess of 40 knots on the nose! We had 2 starts, the first at midnight and the 2nd at 0700. The party officially started at 6 p.m. We had a great dinner catered by Joe's on the Green with uncle Mikey cooking steak & fish. Yum. Lots of beer was supplied by George Wells of Keoki Brewing Company. The band was "Tongue & Groove" and tongue and groove they did, right up until the cops came at 11 p.m. We had some great donors for the silent auction and great buyers too! On top of all this fun & festivity, Ranney Warburton unveiled the new sign for the clubhouse! Way to go NYC members! For some cool pix, check in here. Check da results here.
